The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) is steadfast in its mission to create a digitally literate Namibia through free basic digital literacy initiatives. This commitment underscores the nation’s vision to bridge the digital divide and promote equal access to information for all citizens.
Launched in July 2023, the nationwide Digital Literacy Programme has been instrumental in equipping Namibians with essential digital skills. The initiative empowers individuals to navigate the internet confidently and ensures they have reliable access to critical online resources.
To date, over 900 participants across Namibia’s fourteen regions have successfully completed the training and received certification in basic digital literacy. The program also features a vital cybersecurity awareness module, educating citizens about potential threats and providing practical strategies to safeguard against cyberattacks.
