How Speedinet Delivers Wireless Internet

Speedinet provides wireless internet in two different ways, depending on the location and network coverage.

1. Speedinet’s Own Wireless Infrastructure

In areas where Speedinet has built its own network:

  • The wireless tower (high site) is owned and managed by Speedinet.

  • Your internet connection goes directly from your home or business to the nearest Speedinet tower.

  • From there, it connects directly to Speedinet’s network equipment located in the Teraco Data Centre in South Africa.

  • Because Speedinet owns and manages the entire network, we have greater control over performance, reliability, and support.

Simple flow:

2. Leased Wireless Infrastructure

In some areas, Speedinet partners with trusted wireless infrastructure providers to extend coverage.

  • The wireless tower (high site) belongs to a partner infrastructure provider.

  • Your connection first reaches the partner’s tower.

  • It is then securely carried through the partner’s network (via a dedicated tunnel) to Speedinet’s own network equipment at the Teraco Data Centre.

  • From that point onward, Speedinet manages your internet service, routing, security, monitoring, and customer support.

This means customers still receive internet from Speedinet, even though the nearby tower is owned by another provider.

What Does This Mean for Customers?

Whether you connect through a Speedinet-owned tower or a leased partner tower, your internet service is provided and managed by Speedinet.

The only difference is who owns the wireless tower that connects you. In both cases, Speedinet delivers the internet service, manages the network, provides technical support, and ensures your traffic reaches the internet through our equipment in the Teraco Data Centre.
