The Motorola Razr Fold and the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold both start at about $1,899 in the US, but Motorola’s entry model comes with 512GB of storage while Google’s comes with 256GB. That makes this the rare foldable matchup where the two price tags match yet the hardware behind them doesn’t, and it pits Motorola’s first book-style foldable against a Pixel line Google has refined over several generations. Here’s our verdict: the Razr Fold is the better buy for most people at this price, and the Pixel only wins if you keep phones for five years or want dust protection and 5x zoom.

The Motorola Razr Fold starts at $1,899.99 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, the current fast standard for phone storage, according to Motorola’s US specifications, while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold starts at $1,899 on the Google Store with 16GB and 256GB. So Motorola gives you twice the storage for a price that differs by less than a dollar. If you need 512GB on the Pixel, Google’s next tier costs $2,019, according to Android Authority’s launch report, which puts the Razr Fold about $119 below a like-for-like Pixel. We checked both list prices on October 30, 2026, and carrier deals can move either number.

Is the Razr Fold a Flip Phone?

The Motorola Razr Fold isn’t a flip phone, even though the Razr name has belonged to Motorola’s clamshell foldables for years; it’s the company’s first book-style foldable, which opens sideways into an 8.09-inch tablet like the Pixel 11 Pro Fold does. Our explainer on the three types of foldable phones covers how the formats differ. In the hand, the two are close, with the Razr 0.21mm thinner when folded and 4g heavier, a gap most people won’t notice once a case goes on. The Razr feels thin and light for an 8-inch foldable, which is the point reviews make most often, but its bulky camera module gives some of that back on a desk, and an early owner who had used several foldables rated its hinge and screens among the best they’d tried. Motorola’s 6.56-inch cover screen runs at up to 165Hz, which makes scrolling look smoother than on the Pixel’s 120Hz outer panel.

Does the 6,000mAh Battery Win the Battery Test?

The Motorola Razr Fold lasted 14 hours and 44 minutes in Tom’s Guide’s battery test, against 12 hours and 31 minutes for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, which works out to 133 more minutes, or 17.7% longer, under one shared method. Charging is where the gap really opens up. In the same outlet’s testing, the Razr reached 42% after 15 minutes against 29% for the Pixel, and 75% after 30 minutes against 56%, which tracks with Motorola’s 80W wired rating against Google’s 30W. Motorola also supports 50W wireless charging, against 25W on the Pixel.

A percentage isn’t an amount of energy, though, because the Razr’s battery is bigger, so 75% of Motorola’s cell holds more charge than 75% of Google’s. Google lists a typical capacity of 4,806mAh for the Pixel, with a rated minimum of 4,750mAh, which makes the Razr’s 6,000mAh cell about 24.8% larger, a number that matters in the take below.

Which Phone Is Better for Work and Photos?

The Motorola Razr Fold leans into productivity with Smart Connect, Motorola’s software for running phone apps in a desktop-style layout on a monitor or PC, and with stylus support, which together make it the stronger work machine of the two. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold counters with Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, and Google’s own multitasking on the inner screen, which owners say they use heavily for reading and split-screen apps. We couldn’t confirm whether Motorola includes a stylus in the US box, so budget for one until it’s clear.

On cameras, the Razr carries three 50MP sensors with a 3x telephoto, while the Pixel uses a 48MP main camera with a 10.8MP 5x telephoto. Motorola has more resolution on every lens and Google has more optical reach, so the choice is simple: if you crop and zoom past 3x, the Pixel is the better camera, and if you shoot at 1x and 3x, the Razr’s three 50MP sensors give you more to work with.

How Long Will Each Phone Be Supported?

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold launched on Android 17 and the Motorola Razr Fold on Android 16, and Motorola states up to five years of security updates, while Google’s update promise for its Pixels runs longer. Durability points the same way. The Pixel is rated IP68, meaning dust-tight and able to survive submersion, while Motorola lists IP48 and IP49 for the Razr, where the 4 means protection only against objects larger than 1mm and the 9 in IP49 means the phone resists high-pressure water jets. Since a hinge is where grit does damage, the Pixel’s rating is the stronger long-term bet. The Razr’s chip also needs a footnote, because it’s the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 rather than the flagship 8 Elite Gen 5, so the Snapdragon name alone doesn’t make it the faster phone.

The Razr Fold’s Battery Lead Comes From Size, So Charging Is the Real Win

Memeburn’s reading of the Motorola Razr Fold vs Pixel 11 Pro Fold battery results is that Motorola’s runtime lead comes from carrying a bigger battery rather than using it more efficiently, which makes charging speed its true advantage. Using Tom’s Guide’s figures, the Razr gets about 147 minutes of test runtime per 1,000mAh, the Pixel about 156 on its 4,806mAh typical capacity, and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which Tom’s Guide timed at 14 hours 33 minutes on a 5,000mAh cell, about 175. In other words, the Razr’s 6,000mAh buys only 11 more minutes than Samsung gets from a battery a sixth smaller.

So our call is that the Razr Fold is the better $1,900 foldable for most buyers, because it saves about $119 against a like-for-like 512GB Pixel and adds 19 more percentage points of charge in the first half hour, which is the battery advantage you’ll actually feel. The Pixel is the pick only if you keep phones for five years or more, where IP68 and Google’s longer update promise outweigh storage and charging. Owner reports of hinge trouble during the Razr’s first year would change that call, since a first-generation hinge is the one risk Motorola can’t price away.
