While the DA and ACDP presented proposals to strengthen the independence of the Investigating Directorate (ID), Deputy Justice Minister John Jeffery maintained that the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Amendment Bill must be urgently passed to make the ID a statutory body and allow the NPA to staff it.
